Assessment

Our assessment starts with a conversation.  We want to understand the challenges you face and what really matters to you.

Understanding your communication challenges

Research and our experience tell us that understanding your communication challenges in the context of your daily life is the best starting point for any assessment process.

We want to hear about your experience of the way changes in communication, speech, language or thinking (cognition) affect the things that are important to you. For example, has the way you interact with family changed? Are there factors that impact your ability to return to work or study? Are you able to participate fully in the things that matter to you in the community?

As such, our assessment starts with a conversation. We strive to understand the challenges you and your family are facing and the things you want to improve. What really matters to you?

Using this information to guide us we then tailor an assessment process to suit you, your individual priorities and unique circumstances. This may involve reviewing background information, completing communication assessments and collaborating with other professionals in your team.

We then work together with you to identify communication goals that are based on the real-world communication demands of your life.
